There’s No ‘s’ on Internet

Standard

Today’s title stems from one of my favourite movies, Highlander, and this is a quote from it. Using it here highlights how some nouns in English are only ever in singular form. When I found this example (see pic), I just had to present it here. There is only one internet like we have only one moon for the earth. So there is no plural needed!! Surely this is an unrecognized typo. Please. That’d make me feel better. One thing is for certain, Twitter and Facebook and others are not internets. They are part of social media that work within the system of what is the internet, which itself is a singular body. Typo? Hmm….someone’s mind skipped a track on the player.
